“Cheers!”

Well well well.

It’s looking like Kingston’s Open Days have been a great success … although we’ve not yet got feed back from all the venues, it looks like there’s been more than 1000 visitors to the various spaces and places that kindly threw open their doors across the Borough.

Around 250 visited the BalletBoyz studios with its Kingston Aviation exhibition, more than 80 extra people visited All Saints’ church, over 100 stopped off at the Cleaves Almshouses, 64 at Coombe Conduit, and more than 100 made a special trip to St John the Baptist church in Old Malden.

Old favourite Frederick Paine the undertakers was very busy with over 100 taking its special tours and 90 found out more about the role that the Seething Wells Waterworks played in the defeat of King Cholera.

The new venues were particularly popular though all are reporting being busy and pleased.

We couldn’t have done it without huge help and support from all the venues, so a big “Cheers!” from us to them all.

We’ll keep you posted as more news comes in … meanwhile here’s news already in:

Too late to go in the Guide but over the next four days the Surrey Comet are showing their 50 years of History in Kingston DVD at the Rose Theatre. Do pop in and enjoy this opportunity.
